Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus

What is an SCBA?

A self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is a type of respiratory protection equipment that contains breathable compressed air. It is typically used by those who must perform work in areas of immediate danger to life and health.

It is essential that workers are trained properly to eliminate undue stress and breathing difficulties.

Why Do Workers Require Training?

Regulations in Ontario dictate many aspects of SCBA use.  Regulations determine under what conditions an SCBA must be worn, the requirements for the breathable air, and the training that must be delivered.

This course will prepare you to properly use an SCBA and recognize potential hazards.
